    Care Home Entertainment

As well as performing at theatres and large events, Tap About Town has adapted an interactive Tea Dance Tap Show to suit care home residents and those living in retirement villages and sheltered accommodation. Katie is a much loved entertainer and brings joy and happiness to the residents she entertains. The show can fit around tea and coffee or the cutting of birthday cake (for example if it is a resident's birthday). Katie has experience working as a carer with a broad range of disabilities from elderly residents with dementia to clients with mental health and learning disabilities and therefore understands the importance of song choice and interaction and how music and dance can bring residents alive! Tap About Town's entertainment is nostalgic and she hopes to bring back lovely memories from their dancing days and to share her passion of dance with the audience.

The show consists of tap dancing, sing alongs and other styles of dance including rock and roll, lyrical and ballroom. The music played is from the 1950's & 60's and songs from iconic musicals such as Singin' in the Rain. The show is interactive and the residents and staff are encouraged to sing along, clap and join in with some basic movements in their seats. Of course, if any residents are able and want to have a little boogie, they can! However, the show is for residents of all abilities including those with little or no movement as they can sit back and enjoy the show without participating.

It is colourful and visual as props are used and there is also a costume change.
